"I genuinely believe that we are the best at what we do in the Education business."

Jesse Johnson

Head of Multi Academy Trusts & Bids, RM Education

Multi-Academy Trusts are a fast-growing part of the Education market and building strong relationships with these customers is vital to the future of our business. I lead a team of seven people who work to engage with customers, to understand their vision and challenges and develop services and solutions that meet their needs. We help to knit together all of the different parts of RM Education and the things they all do to create unique propositions for our customers.

The variety is impressive – one day I could be presenting to the RM Education Leadership team or having a meeting with the Executive Committee to discuss business opportunities. Another day I might be delivering a workshop to a Senior Leadership Team at one of our Multi-Academy Trusts. The day after I could be reviewing a bid submission.

The most challenging part has probably been developing and leading the Multi-Academy Trust strategy, communicating that vision to the business and gaining buy-in. I had to work out the approach to an evolving part of the market in which we had limited experience.

This piece of work really helped to stretch me as an individual and placed a new level of expectation on me – it’s the Managing Director’s personal passion that we do this well. It really allowed me to prove and demonstrate the skills I have in a new area.

I genuinely believe that we are the best at what we do in the Education business. We have experienced our challenges but we have always maintained our core values. The fact we have high standards and act with integrity is really motivational for me. I like the fact we are a commercial business working in arguably the most important part of the public sector.
