TTS

We work tirelessly to ensure our complete offering, at every single customer touchpoint, is outstanding; and to deliver on our aim to give every child, every day, a reason to love learning - and we're delighted to have been recognised as the 2016 Supplier of the Year at the Education Resources Awards.

We believe that our hands-on approach to engaging with classroom teachers results in a great company ethos and service culture, with people are at the very heart of our business – they enjoy working with us, and with each other. We've added some local benefits beyond the great RM group package to recognise their hard work and dedication.

TTS have a commitment to learning and development. All of our staff undergo regular training and we encourage internal moves to keep our employees progressing. We give back to our community, rolling up our sleeves to renovate school playgrounds or donating our time to help children learn to read. We have lots of fun outside of work too, playing football, singing in the choir and regular staff events that usually involve inflatables, games and some hilarious pictures at the end of it all!

Voted 2016 Supplier of the Year at the Education Resources Awards, and Employer of the Year at the 2015 Chad Business Awards.

Giving every child, every day, a reason to love learning

From humble beginnings in a garage in the Midlands, to supplying over 64 countries across the globe, we have been talking to educators and inventing new reasons for children to love learning for over 30 years.

It was a simple scene back in 1985; a conversation with a teacher in a local school around the lack of quality D&T resources for the classroom. One industrious evening later and the first TTS resource was born. The very next day the teacher was given the prototype. “Wow," they said, “this is exactly what I said I needed”.

From the conversations, the design realisation, the prototype, the consultation, the manufacture, the delivery, the reaction and most importantly the benefit to children's education, our cycle of development hasn’t really changed, even if life in a school has. With our customers’ help we create hundreds of new resources every year – and we keep on inventing because our customers ask us to.

When our customers buy from us, they know that our service will be just as high-quality as our product, and they’re happy to tell the world via our 98% positive feefo rating. 75% of our orders are delivered by the next working day.

Helping keep children safe

A team of brilliant individuals is dedicated to ensuring all 15,000 of our resources satisfy every piece of relevant EU safety legislation. They check each item is of the highest quality to withstand our customers’ bustling learning environments.  Nurseries and schools know that they can get everything they need from us, with our promise to help keep children safe.

A culture of ideas

Like young children, there are no limits to our imagination.  We are fortunate to meet many inspiring and creative people through our travels and it is their inspiration, expertise, ideas, support and encouragement (along with the children who are our chief testers!) that have enabled us to develop a culture of ideas that never stands still.

We employ over 200 people and ship a range of 15,000 products worldwide. We're pleased to report a 98% positive feedback rating from our customers.

In addition to the great RM group benefits package, we have a few local added extras such as:

  • An extra windfall if you have 100% attendance throughout the year;
  • The opportunity to buy products at cost plus VAT AND to receive a product FREE at Christmas
  • 10% discount for our employees children's / grandchildren's / nephew / nieces schools;
  • Employee of the month awards (including use of that coveted parking spot closest to the door)

We aim to improve education and life for children in the UK and abroad. Sometimes this means raising money to build schools and provide resources in Kenya, and to help children here. But we also help schools with gardening, painting or whatever else they need. So far we’ve donated £150,000 to good causes over the last seven years.

With children at the heart of everything we do, one of our key objectives is to minimise the impact on the environment from our business operations in support of future generations by:

  • Using packaging which contains 60% recycled material
  • Printing our catalogues on paper from sustainable forests in
    Western Europe
  • Recycling 97% of waste produced across our operations, with the aim to make this 100% by 2020
  • Using pool cars to minimise unavoidable travel and facilitating car sharing initiatives for our employees
