I originally joined TTS in 2010 as a Cashier within the Finance team, and over the next five years gained experience across a variety of functions such as Accounts Administration, Credit Control and Accounts Payable. The move to Accounts Payable allowed me to get involved with supplier negotiations; coupled with participation in Director’s Development Group, this gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and apply for my current role as Assistant NPD Buyer.
I moved into Purchasing in 2014 to work on the re-branding of 2,500 TTS products, and I now support our Basic Skills and Foundation teams with their annual product development cycle. I love working in New Product Development because it means I am contributing to one of our key revenue drivers – it’s great to see new products come out, especially when they sell well! I’m involved from the start of the development lifecycle, speaking to Product Managers to understand their ideas then working with suppliers to bring the concept to life with samples and refine to the final version. Our products are high-quality and versatile, with one of my favourites for 2016 being the “Tip of the Tongue” literacy box. The feedback from our advisors has been very positive so far.
