RM Introduces Technical Sales Apprenticeships
At RM, we believe that technology should never get in the way of teaching and learning. We’ve got more than 45 years’ experience of delivering software, networks and hardware for over 7,000 schools! Along the way, we’ve learned a thing or two about how staff and students use IT, and how IT needs to be managed to let teachers teach and learners learn.
2021 sees ambitious plans for our sales teams. To help us get ready for an exciting year ahead, we recently supported some of the RM sales team by enabling them to complete a Level 4 Technical Sales Apprenticeship. We think it’s just as important to continue learning ourselves as well as enabling students and teachers to do so, too. What better way to reward our sales teams than investing in better training and development?
Apprenticeships don’t have to be just for entry level roles, we spoke to two existing members of the sales team about their journeys on the course so far.
William Warham, a Field Business Development Manager in our Digital Platforms division told us “as I don’t come from a technical or sales background the course has really helped to develop my knowledge of systems and as a result I am more confident in talking about the technology we sell”.
Emily Simmons talked us through how the training has had to adapt since the Covid pandemic and how she is juggling her full time job alongside her virtual learning experience. She said “working as a group on the training within RM has been great even though we are all working from home. We have been able to have interactive lessons and work very collaboratively.”
