Social Media Executive
I joined RM in June 2019 as a Marketing Planning Executive. This role involved working on marketing campaigns and making sure that everything was aligned for each campaign. We used a system called Workfront to manage these and it was my responsibility to ensure all the content for the campaigns went into this system. What I enjoyed about the role was the people and that I got to work with a lot of people across the business such as the product teams, digital teams and procurement teams. I also enjoyed working on a wide range of campaigns especially the black Friday one.
In January 2021 I moved across to the Technology division in RM as a Social Media Executive. This role was more aligned to what I originally wanted to do when I started my career in marketing. Due to remote working through Covid, I have been able to move to this role without my location being an issue. It has worked well working from home and I probably wouldn’t have been able to make this move before. Joining the team completely remotely hasn’t been a problem at all and I don’t really feel like I haven’t met anyone. We do daily stand ups and regular team meetings so it was easy to become a part of the team.
My role involves working on brand awareness through social media as this is increasingly an important channel for us. We are also about to launch a project for brand advocacy which I am excited to be a part of.
For me working for RM makes you feel you are contributing to something worthwhile as what we are doing actually makes an impact within schools. When I see comments from teachers on our social media about how we have helped with remote learning it really brings home what we are doing. After moving from one division to another, I am excited for the future as I can see future progression and feel very valued in my role.
