Lead Service Account Manager

I am currently a Lead Service Account Manager within the Services division of RM Education. My role involves looking after all my customer needs and that day to day relationship with them. Quite simply, it’s ensuring their IT works. The role is a dual role of sales and service. There is also a clear management element to the role as I manage eight customer service engineers who are based on customer sites. In my Lead Service Account Manager role I also manager and mentor five other Service Account Managers across the Midlands and North of England, helping them to fulfil their roles effectively and efficiently.

What I enjoy about the role is delivering results for my customers, the sales element and the people interaction. The role is very diverse which allows me great variety and flexibility. The flexibility is great as it allows me to maintain the work life balance especially as I have a young family.

I joined RM several years ago after working as an RM customer for Staffordshire County Council. I project managed an RM product across over two hundred schools – we still have this very well established product today, RM Unify! At the time I was involved in moving schools over to RM Unify. RM invited me to join them as a customer ambassador at the BETT Show so I spent a full week on the stand and got to really understand them and become completely embedded in the company. When a role came up for an Operations Manager in Stoke, it was a natural move to join them and be a full member of the RM team!

Since joining RM, one of the many interesting projects I have worked on has been transitioning a Building Schools for the Future (BSF) contract to a standard Managed Service. We exited thirteen schools from the BSF contract and moved them to RM Managed Service Flex contracts. It was a huge leap for the schools and we also managed to use the opportunity to bring in a large number of our connectivity services as well. A real team success!

What makes me proud about working for RM is that we are doing the right thing for our schools. The schools are at the heart of everything we do and that shines through our commitment for excellence in customer service and service delivery.

Since joining RM have helped me to develop my own skills. The investment in me personally has been excellent. I have been lucky enough to complete management training courses and I have been put forward for personal brand training and mentoring which I have really enjoyed.

I can fully hand on heart say, RM is a great place to work where there is no one who would not be happy to help you or support you get the job done!
