RM Launches New Way of Working
Last week marked the one-year anniversary of the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s been an opportunity to reflect on just how much has changed in our personal and working lives over the last 12 months, and how we continue to face the challenges of a changing world.
New ways of working
With many of us having to adopt new, remote working patterns, we’ve had time to consider and hold open, transparent conversations with you about what the future of work will look and feel like going forwards.
The survey we conducted last year resulted in 90% of our people stating that they wanted to continue with remote working in some way going forward and, with such a large percentage of employees feeding back it would be remiss of us as a business not to take this on board. Likewise, our Employee Forum also endorsed the benefits that working from home and flexibility around working hours present in meeting our differing needs, albeit to date it’s been happening in enforced and extraordinary circumstances where the ability to meet physically with colleagues has been restricted.
The Future of Work
As we plan for the new normal, we are very clear that we want our people to feel empowered and connected, and to be able to bring their whole selves to work. We see flexible, ‘blended working’ where roles allow as a key part of delivering on this.
We’re excited about moving to a new, future-ready way of working and the opportunities that My Work Blend @RM delivers to current and potential employees. We’re confident that this new, agile way of working will help us to understand, respect and celebrate each other and, importantly, it will help us to get things done and focus on the things that really matter to our customers so that we’re able to deliver on our purpose of enriching the lives of learners worldwide.
